Clinical Supervision
Supervision provides practitioners who are engaged in emotionally challenging and complex work, with the opportunity to reflect on and develop their practice, ensures they are working in the best interest of their clients, and contributes to the counsellor’s/psychotherapist’s resilience and self-care. Supervision provides an opportunity for practitioners to do a range of things that may, depending on the role, include the following:
Offload case material
Reflect on practice or work setting
Link theory to practice
Identify difficulties and explore ways forward (this may be case-related or organisational)
Recognise when own issues are impacted by, or impacting on work, and identify appropriate courses of action
Recognise & celebrate good practice
Identify areas for professional development
Consider self-care
Following a supervision session, practitioners will have felt supported, gained greater insight and ideas, or have increased clarity of how to work with clients or supervisees going forward.
As a Supervisor I provide clinical & non-managerial supervision in person and online for qualified practitioners including counsellors, psychotherapists, play therapists & health professionals, including those:
Who have a range of specialisms, and work with adults, children & young people, in a variety of settings, including private practice
Who supervise counsellors and other professionals
If you are looking for a new supervisor, you are welcome to contact me to discuss the possibility of working together, and to determine whether we would be a good fit.
